Battery Disposal
KOHLER Uninterruptible Power will manage the safe removal of batteries from your site and arrange for them to be recycled.
Overview
End-of-life batteries present potential chemical, electrical, fire and environmental risks. Dismantling and disposing of UPS or centralised emergency lighting batteries, in particular, requires specialist expertise.
KUP’s engineers will ensure that all safety and legal requirements associated with the dismantling, removal, transportation and disposal of waste batteries are fully complied with including the requirements of the Hazardous Waste Regulations, under which KUP is registered as an approved carrier.
Benefits
By engaging KOHLER Uninterruptible Power to take care of their battery disposal clients can be confident that their organisation will not be exposed to the various risks associated with this specialist operation.
In addition, they can be confident that they are contributing to sustainability via a well-established recycling programme for VRLA batteries that results in around 98% of their content being recycled, either into new batteries, plastic products or chemicals used in other processes.
