KOHLER Medical Isolated Power Supply (MIPS) / Medical IT system

KOHLER Medical Isolated Power Supply (MIPS) / Medical IT system

10kVA, Single-Phase, Standalone

Ideal for: Operating rooms, Intensive care rooms, MRI suites, Recovery rooms and Therapy rooms

Responding to client requests, KOHLER Uninterruptible Power now offer a quality, high-specification Medical IT (Medical Isolated Power Supply) system. This can easily integrate with the many KOHLER UPS and generator systems installed in hospitals and other healthcare facilities or those of other manufacturers. Backed by best-in-class support, the UK-built system was designed from the outset to fully meet or exceed the requirements of UK HTM-06-01 whilst incorporating design features identified during customer research.

  • Dual fan top assembly improves the overall efficiency of the isolated power supply system and advances independent component heat dissipation.
  • Fault detection system with integrated current transformers that detect insulation faults in IT systems. This also links to the insulation monitor panel.
  • Medical Isolation Transformer compliant with EN 61558-2-15 Standards for supplying critical loads.

More Information

Robustly constructed in the UK, the innovative KOHLER Medical Isolated Power Supply (MIPS) is a Medical IT system that is easily installed and integrated with other components of a power protection system, from KOHLER or other manufacturers. Housing the insulation monitor and insulation fault detection hardware, transfer relay, isolation transformer, output breakers and maintenance bypass, the lockable IP41 main cabinet features top-mounted fans with easily maintained filters for optimum ventilation and performance. Pre-installation and testing of the isolation transformer at the factory ensure high quality and speeds up onsite commissioning.

Easy installation

Top entry cable glands provide easy access to the terminals for all power, load, and monitoring cable infrastructure whilst pre-installed transformers speed commissioning.

Equipotential Bonding Busbar

Easing compliance with earthing requirements for Group 1 and 2 Medical Locations according to section 710 or BS7671, an equipotential busbar enclosure with supplementary bonding connection points is available in either flush or wall mounted formats.

Maintenance bypass switch

Each MIPS system is provided with a rotary break before make Maintenance Bypass Switch (MBS). The MBS allows the output to be connected to the ATS, or directly to the primary supply or the secondary supply; the switch also allows the output to be isolated OFF.

Transfer relay

Every MIPS system can be supplied by two different source supplies. The transfer system provides a fast changeover between supplies.

Control and Alarm Panels

Each cabinet can be connected to a range of control and alarm panels mounted locally, centrally, remotely or in an operating theatre.
