What do specifiers frequently get wrong when implementing a UPS solution?

When specifying uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), the type of load being supported is often overlooked and there are many issues that can have an impact on the overall performance of the system. As part of a series of video interviews with Mission Critical Power, Kohler Uninterruptible Power’s, Alex Emms, discusses how to avoid costly mistakes when installing UPS.

He explains that UPS systems are being used in a wide variety of applications and each application has its own pitfalls. Things to consider include:

  • The type of load
  • The environment – temperature control, dust, humidity and noise attenuation are all key issues that need to be addressed.
