This joint event, organised with Optimum Power Services, was held on 3rd November 2016 at KUP’s head office in Hook, Hampshire. OPS are power hire solution & load bank specialists.
OPS supplied two containers for the live demonstrations; one holding a 300kVA KOHLER PW 9000DPA UPS with battery racks, and the other holding 2 x 500kVA KOHLER PW 6000 with battery racks. Accompanying these were two generators and two load banks. These were positioned within the car park.
On the day, live demonstrations carried out by trained engineers included:
- Redundancy of failure of one unit
- Loss of supply, battery discharge and supply restoration
- Load sharing between modules
- ‘Hot swap’ capability of the modular KOHLER PW 9000DPA
- PowerREPORTER remote monitoring
Feedback from the 47 delegates who attended on the day was very positive.
